1998. Despite their marriage having survived Bill’s earlier alleged infidelities, Hillary's decision to defend him backfires after she is misled about Monica.
January 1998. Despite denials, stories snowball about Monica and President Clinton. Linda is sure he is finished, but the media circus assaults all three of them – cruelly attacking her and Monica.
January 16, 1998. The ambush of Monica does not go as the prosecutors and the FBI expect. With a deadline looming, they put pressure on the stressed but stubborn young woman.
December 1997. Monica is to leave DC, alarmed to be linked to the Paula Jones case and unaware that Linda’s evasive behaviour masks betrayal.
August 1997. Fuelling Monica’s frustration at being sidelined, Linda has her ask for incriminating aid and learns more of the young woman’s troubled love life.
Linda disconcerts Monica when she decides to make her voice heard. A settlement tempts Paula, and Matt Drudge stirs up the internet.
Hopeful of resuming West Wing work, Monica keeps her affair secret through the 1996 election, despite Linda’s interest. Meanwhile, Paula Jones is promised empowerment against the president.
1998: Linda Tripp betrays Monica Lewinsky. But in 1993, it was Linda who felt wronged, abruptly relegated from the White House. Meanwhile, Paula Jones accuses President Clinton of sexual harassment.
