With the hospital in money trouble, Joyce opens a VIP private room and offers a prize for the team that upsells the most treatments. Serena and Matt team up to try to win it.
People are giving the hospital bad reviews online, so Joyce tells Ron he needs to be more sensitive with patients, while Alex gets anxious that a patient thought she was snippy.
When a dying man's family cannot agree about anything, Matt and Serena try to help them get along. Bruce becomes obsessed with trying to stay young.
Joyce wants to know which members of staff are in relationships with each other and asks them to put it in a form. In response, Bruce designs a form, asking people who they might want to sleep with.
When two inmates from the nearby prison are admitted with injuries they gave each other, Alex and Matt see a chance to show them the error of their ways.
Christmas at St Denis. Alex and Ron have made a new friend on the ward. Serena helps Joyce with the hospital social media accounts. Matt and Bruce have to man up when Santa has a little problem.
A feud ignites between Ron and Bruce when Bruce takes the last Nutrageous bar from the vending machine. Alex is nervous because it's the first time she's had to fire someone.
Alex decides to improve things on the ward by changing the rota, but it has unforeseen consequences for staff morale.
Matt becomes suspicious that Chaplain Steve might not be what he claims to be.
Joyce has an emotional day when her marimba teacher dies. Alex helps her be open about her home life at work, with mixed results. Serena and Val persuade Ron to get back on the dating scene.
Alex needs to get home on time to see her daughter in the school play but has a demanding new role as supervising nurse. Matt gets off to a flier on his first day by injecting himself with an EpiPen.
